DIY ~ Make Your Own Valentine's Day Cards

Nothing is more personal than a handwritten note, so why should Valentine's Day be treated any differently? Show someone you care by making your own Valentine's Day cards. Get your construction paper, felt, scissors markers and glue... add some stickers, glitter, stamps, paint brushes and paint... and go to town! I promise you will have fun!

DIY ~ Make Your Own Plush Owls

I wish I was more of a seamstress, because Stella and Stewart, the cool couple above, are adorable! Hoot hoot! Purchase a PDF sewing pattern for making these sweet plush owls from the Etsy shop: Retro Mama. Includes instructions to make a plain or patchwork back and several options to personalize your owl face. Finished owl measures approximately 7".

DIY ~ Make Your Own Christmas Cards

I used to spend a fortune on Christmas cards, but for the past couple of years I love to make my own. They are more meaningful and so easy to make! This year I picked one of my favorite "winter wonderland" paintings to be on the front.

Most of us add a personal photo to our cards, but do you upload a personal image too? I uploaded my image to Vistaprint, but there are so many you can choose from these days. (ex: Shutterfly, Snapfish), and ordered a large 5.5" by 8.5" card with a matte finish.
Make your own Christmas Cards
Choose your family photo, and tape it with Scotch double sided tape to the back side. Write your personal message, stamp it and mail it... done! fyi - mine are going out today. Just one more thing I can check off the list!

This is such an easy and affordable way to transform your wardrobes, shelves, cabinets, etc... the sky is the limit on this fabulous DIY makeover. Take any scraps of your favorite wallpaper to line the insides of your dull and tired looking furniture.
