The Swiss Love Bus: Bernmobil's Airport Bus Theme is a Bit Strange...

We don't know about you, but the first thing that popped into mind upon seeing Bernmobil's airport transporter was a small red bus making some kinky back-door love to a light-blue colored bus. Even though Neue Lgk, the Swiss advertising agency that came up with the idea, probably intended to show a bus 'taking off' for the airport, once you've made the abovementioned association, there's no return ticket from the state of lost innocence...

VIDEO: BMW 'Joyful' Promo Film with Some Neat Classics

The maker of 'The Ultimate Driving Machine' has released a new promotional video featuring past, current and feature production and concept bimmers such as the Z1 and Z8 roadsters, M3 E30, 2002 Convertible and the controversial 5-Series GT. As with the Z4 Roadster, the Bavarians chose to use the 'Joy' slogan in their latest film. As you can see in the video, BMW overdid it with the joy theme as everyone is smiling like a Cheshire cat on dope. And oh, for those that don't understand a word of German, no need to panic as we've added an official translation right after the jump.

Translation: We are a car company. But we don't just make cars. We make time machines, Build Snowplows, And create works of art.

We inspire fans, And fan clubs. We are efficient and dynamic. We even shape the future.

We realized a long time ago that what you make people feel is just as important ... as what you make. And at BMW we make Joy.

New Astra Beats Ford Focus and VW Golf at Millbrook Test Track in Viral Video

Looks like General Motors' UK division is trying its hand at viral marketing with a new video showing 2010 Astra hatchback outpacing a VW Golf MKVI and a Ford Focus at the Millbrook Proving Ground test track in Bedfordshire, England. The driver behind the wheel of the Astra is none other than Vauxhall's own BTCC pilot, Fabrizio Giovanardi. If you turn up the volume and pay attention, you might hear some weird mechanical noises coming out of the Astra but guess that makes it a bit more realistic... Will be interesting to see if Ford and VW play along, but until then follow the jump to watch the video.

Kudos to Mark for the tip!

Fiat 500 Convertible "Hang's Over" at Frankfurt Airport

Following in the footsteps of other carmakers, Fiat decided to promote its newly launched 500 Convertible in Germany by hanging a full-sized model of the car on the ceiling of a main terminal at Frankfurt's Rhein-Main Airport. There are also a couple of signs on the walls that say "Happy to Meet You" though judging by the photo after the jump, people seem to be more 'happy' in finding their way out of the terminal than to stare at a car hanging over their head... The new 500 C that features a sliding ragtop with a rear-glass window went on sale in Europe this spring.

Engine options are carried over from the fixed-top 500 and include a 1.3-liter turbocharged diesel producing 75HP and two gasoline engines, a 1.2-liter four-cylinder with 69HP hp and a 1.4-liter four-pot churning out 100HP, available with either manual or robotized Dualogic transmissions.

VIDEO: Dodge Boys Racing Hot Charger Bus Commercials

Dodge's motorsport division has launched a new series of online ads featuring the company's 'big-bad' NASCAR bus that will be making an 88-stop tour across the country to promote the Dodge product lineup. Nicely done commercials, too bad that Chrysler's PR department (ha, that's a good one...) hasn't taken the time to promote the ads as we stumbled upon them by chance, but we guess we'll get the word around...

"Stolen" Ford Fiesta Travesty Continues: Car Found in NYC Impound Lot - Bronstein Renowned for his Publicity Stunts

The whole 'stolen' Ford Fiesta Movement story had more holes than a block of Swiss cheese to begin with, but now things have become more clear. The owner of the car, 'MacHammer' Jake Bronstein announced that he found the allegedly stolen Fiesta locked up in a New York City impound lot... We're so appalled that we're not even going to continue with the details. But what we would like to add is that even though we didn't see it mentioned on other sites, a quick search on the internet reveals that Bronstein has made a name for himself as a publicity stunt artist - even Wikipedia has an article on him as you can see after the jump. And some wonder why Ford chose Bronstein for the Fiesta Movement test cars...

From Wikipedia: Jake Bronstein Publicity Stunts

"Other highlights include his bizarre public stunts, such as bathing in Bryant Park Fountai, taking advantage of a loophole to get into the NBA draft. eBaying the lead singer position in his band, offering himself for marriage, freeing a fish into New York's East River, launching a 50 Dates in 50 States quest by soliciting invites from women on the web, and offering 1,000 strangers a hand-written love letter.

He is also the inventor of the Fun Idea Machine and recently started a text system designed to kill boredom by letting people text NEED FUN to 30644 for fun ideas, for free, by phone. He appeared on CBS Sunday Morning drinking a full bottle of maple syrup to set a new world record."

VIDEO: New Porsche Panamera Promotional Film

In today's world, the name of the game is marketing. The more people that hear about your product, the better chances you have of achieving higher sales. Porsche is no exception to the rule as the German automaker constantly reminds us that it has presented the new Panamera sports sedan. This time, the Stuttgart-based company published a two-and-a-half minute long promotional video of its Gran Turismo filmed on the road. Can't say we liked it, but check out it for yourselves after the jump.

Dodge Caliber Pig and Bear add: “It’s Anything But Cute”

Found this "black humor" video of the 2007 Dodge Caliber, which continues the “It’s Anything But Cute” philosophy of the other commercials of the car. This specific add tells us the heartwarming tale of two gentle creatures, a pig and a bear and their encounter with the “menacing” Dodge Caliber.

BMW Australia creates a TV Commercial for the 3 Series

BMW Australia brings five generations of the iconic 3 Series sports sedan to life on the screen

The advertisement traces the history of the iconic 3 Series from its genesis as the BMW 2002 in 1968 to the latest E90 3 Series Sedan, with all cars filmed on a race track, and seamlessly morphing from one generation to the next.

In creating the advertisement, BMW and its creative partner, Melbourne based Badjar Group, mixed the latest in computer generated imagery with awesome on track driving, and a unique 360-degree action pan shot of the current and previous generation 3 Series cars.

We created this television spot to show how the BMW 3 Series has always been fun to drive, is fun to drive today and will always be fun to drive. That’s what you’d expect from the cornerstone of the BMW brand,” says Tom Noble, General Manager, Marketing at BMW Group Australia.

Jack Room, executive creative director of BADJAR Group created a 45-second television spot that embodied the spirit of the BMW 3 Series. Armed with a vital knowledge base of the 3 Series history, the BADJAR creative team focused on the payoff line: “In 1968 BMW invented the sports sedan and never stopped re-inventing it”.

In the TVC, the cars morph through their generations to the climax, with the evocative music of the Body Rocker’s song “I Like The Way You Move” playing strongly. With the help of CGI – computer generated imaging – the BADJAR team spent two days on site at the Eastern Creek race track in Sydney filming and then worked their magic in the editing suite.

BADJAR had not done anything like the 3 Series creative for BMW previously. “We’ve done plenty of television commercials where we have used computer generated imaging, but not to this extent. The unique thing about this particular piece is that we wanted to have an archival feel to it to start with and then, as the whole thing progressed, end up with a much more contemporary feel, when the E46 3 Series morphed into the E90”, says Jack.

To enable that seamless transition, a special rig was built for the money shot, which involved mounting a camera for a 360-degree pan around both an E46 and E90 as one morphs into the other. After the shoot and with the genius of computers in the editing suite, the creatives took some footage of the spectacular mountains around Queenstown in New Zealand to slip into the background.

Volkswagen Golf GTI “Speedy Gonzales” Commercials

Arriba!

Volkswagen is calling for the help of Speedy Gonzales in attracting Hispanic customers for its new Golf GTI V commercials

Volkswagen rolled out three new GTI commercials this week starring the Looney Tunes superhero mouse, Speedy Gonzalez. The commercials are part of an ongoing effort by the German automaker to win the growing Hispanic market in North

CreativeOndemanD, Volkswagen's Hispanic agency has created the commercials for the new Golf GTI which feature Warner Brothers' Speedy Gonzales.

The spots are airing on Univision, Telemundo, Telefutura, Azteca America, Galavision, Mun2, Fox Sports en Espanol, American Latino, SiTV, ESPN Deportes, CNN en Espanol, GolTV, and MTV en Espanol. The campaign also includes outdoor in Miami, Los Angeles and New York.

The three commercials use vintage Warner Bros. footage and will show Speedy in a series of adventures: he taunts cats and helps his friends get cheese. True to his cartoon background, he even gets run over by a GTI.

“We knew the Hispanic consumer didn’t have a history, with the car”, said Daniel Marrero, partner and creative director for CreativeOndemanD, Coral Gables, Fla

“We had the challenge having to communicate that this was a smart, agile, fast car in the quickest way possible. Speedy Gonzales was a good fit for the campaign because, in part, he’s kind of an icon for Hispanics,” Marrero said. “He’s always outwitting his enemies”.

Volkswagen to Remove “abusive” billboards

Volkswagen said it will remove billboards in New York, Los Angeles and Miami after receiving complaints that a word used in an advertisement was offensive to Hispanics. The ad for the new GTI 2006 had a photo of the sports car accompanied by the words "Turbo-Cojones." Cojones, which means… testicles in Spanish, has become a casually used term for boldness or guts in English but has never lost its more vulgar connotations in its native language.

Volkswagen Golf GTI Commercials “Unpimp my ride”

Hilarious!

Volkswagen breaks a North American campaign for the new Golf GTI that takes a poke at MTV's Pimp My Ride

Featuring a German vixen who seems to have walked straight out of the 70’s, and a German engineer filling Xzibit's Pimp my Ride position, Volkswagen’s Golf GTI new series of commercials take a poke at MTV's successful “Pimp My Ride” show.

The German duo shoot a car out of a catapult in one spot, crush a car with a crate containing the new GTI in another. In the third commercial, they crush a car with a wrecking ball. At the end of these ads, Stormare spouts such gems as "Representing Deutschland", and "German engineering in da haus", and the ads end with the voice-over "Pre-tuned by German engineers".

"There are people that think the culture has gone too far and there’s a bit of a backlash from the Hollywood version. In some way they ruined what was a very organic and very cool thing," said Alex Bogusky, chief creative officer at Miami-based Crispin Porter + Bogusky, a unit of MDC Partners. Targeting males 18 to 49, the campaign includes Internet, outdoor and print iterations, rolling out nationally over the next couple of months.

"Our goal is to make VW famous and relevant again," said Kerri Martin, director of marketing development at VW. "If the Beetle is the heart of the brand, then the GTI is the soul of the brand. It hits on all four things that really have made Volkswagen famous over the years: affordable, German engineering that is fun to drive and a distinctly European style."

Volkswagen Golf GTI: Catapult

Volkswagen Golf GTI: Crate

Volkswagen Golf GTI: Wrecking ball
