Editorial Comment - Brazilian Grand Prix

By James Neilson

What an entertaining way to finish the year. You've got to love the Brazilian Grand Prix wrapping up the season for the last few years. It actually means those of us in North America can watch the season's final race at a decent hour.

So Raikonnen won, Alonso looked like a guy who didn't give a crap as long as his teammate didn't win and Hamilton finally looked like a Formula 1 rookie. It was bound to happen sooner or later but it was too bad it came at such a crucial moment in the season.

As usual the race was a procession, settled in the pits. Is it too much to ask for an exciting championship battle with exciting races on track?

Could that have been the most subdued title race of all time? I mean we all know Kimi Raikkonen isn't going to flip out over anything besides a bottle of Crystal and an inflatable Godzilla (Kudos to anyone who gets that reference). But could ITV commentators James Allen and Martin Brundle have been more depressed at the end of that race? I know they're British but that was a joke.

At one point they even hoped Alonso would move out of the way for Hamilton to help his title chances. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Those guys are freaking comedians. I had a pretty crappy weekend all around and that single comment, absurd to the point of sad, practically made my weekend. I will construct a working prototype of the Delorean from Back to the Future before Alonso ever moves over for Hamilton.

So then to top it all off, like only F1, and apparently the Maritime Pro Stock Tour, can do Ron Dennis has disputed the result of the race, putting the final standings in doubt.

Kudos to you Ron Dennis; you mismanaged the most talented driver pairing in Formula 1, lost complete control of your employees, had your team kicked out of the Constructor's Championship and now you're adding another black eye to Formula 1 by creating the possibility that the title will be decided by the courts.

Aren't you sick of courts by now?
