SAUBLE BEACH, ON - The 2007 Drivers awards banquet was one heck of a celebration as over 200 people congregated for the End Season Championship ceremonies, master of ceremonies, long time announcer Jim Irvine, and Bob Bannister.
Three new faces were inducted onto the wall of fame at the beach: Rick and Larry McCulloch, along with long time race director Ross Potter, who has now retired.
Joe Chisholm announced the sale of Sauble Speedway to Jason and Aimee Thom. Jason is the son of Bruce Thom of Thom Construction in Owen Sound. Jason in his early teens started racing at Sauble Speedway in a Late Model, Jason advanced his career to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Jason and Aimee have a lot to offer the sport of auto racing.
Jason and Aimee Thom have many plans they wish to inject into their new business. They plan on keeping Sauble Speedway�s existing employees, and take the track to the next level. Joe Chisholm will stay on as Marketing Director, and working hand in Hand with the Thoms.
In company to join the Chisholm Family to celebrate in the success of 2007 at Sauble Speedway were many sponsors with the likes of Reg Noble of Reg Nobles Used Cars, Kevin Brown of Bayshore Broadcasting, Jeff Davis of Davis Trophy, Vince from Margarita Ice, Bert Young of East Side Mario�s, Gary and Sari of Life Publications Owen Sound to name a few, along with Mark Reed of Quaker State Canada who Presented Jason Thom the new owner of Sauble Speedway with a Quaker State leather racing jacket.
