SCCA SPEED WORLD CHALLENGE SET TO RETURN TO MOSPORT IN 2008

(BOWMANVILLE, ON - NOVEMBER 20, 2007) Six classic racing venues have been confirmed for the 2008 SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge schedule. Among these destinations is Mosport International Raceway's famed 4 km road course, which will host the Series (both GT and Touring Car), for the 18th time as part of the Mobil 1 presents the Grand Prix of Mosport, Aug. 21-24. Mosport has hosted more SPEED World Challenge races than any other track in Series history.

For the third year in-a-row, the SPEED GT cars will hit the streets of Long Beach in April with the Champ Car World Series and American Le Mans Series. The following weekend, SPEED Touring Car teams are off to Virginia International Raceway to join the Rolex Sports Car Series. The 2008 event will mark only the second time in history the series has raced at this venerable road course.

In May, both classes reunite for a showdown in the desert at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah with the American Le Mans Series. The series returns to historical Watkins Glen International in June with the Rolex Sports Car Series, then joins the American Le Mans Series and the Indy Racing League for a repeat a highly successful event at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in July, followed by Mosport.
